Admission Process

Admission Process

Applicants who join our service are assessed using our comprehensive risk assessment toolkit and guidelines as specified in the CQC single Assessment Frame work (2022). https://www.cqc.org.uk/guidance-providers/adult-social-care .

A thorough assessment ensures that we provide the right service for new service users from the beginning. Our policy incorporates a 4-stage process from assessment to admission, namely initial contact and face to face interview, visit by service user and by provider, risk assessment report and care plan, induction and admission. Each stage will be detailed in the assessment and registration manual.

When a new service user visits our accommodation, the service manager is responsible for taking them through the facilities, and ensuring that any issues of concern are addressed at that time. If the service user is accepted, the service manager will take the client through an induction process which includes the following:

  • Shared Facilities at the premises such as the kitchen and utilities.
  • Fire safety and what to do in the event of a fire.
  • House rules which include how the service user should conduct themselves with other service users,               expectations in terms of trust and respect and unacceptable conduct.
  • Managing their space.
  • Introduction to other service users.

At the end of the induction the service user will be required to sign the induction form to confirm that they have understood what is expected of them. They will also be presented with the induction document which outlines the service and expectations.

The Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing the admissions process and assessing new referrals and is reachable by email or phone.

The service manager will also be responsible for assessing emergency referrals using the emergency referral toolkit. The Registered Provider will be responsible for approving recommended referrals submitted by the service manager.
