Aims and Objectives

Our aims and objectives are service user centred and seek out to achieve the best outcome for the service user. The following are the key outcomes that we seek to achieve.

  1. We aim to provide a safe and homely environment which young people can call home and thrive and enjoy life to the full
  2. We aim to encourage young people and their representatives to become fully involved in the design and development of their care plans, personal development activities and decisions that affect them.
  3. We aim to enable and support our service users to retain their independence of thought and decision making.
  4. It is  our aim to support young people  to meet their physical and emotional needs and overall well-being in a dignified non- judgmental way.
  5. We will endeavor to recognize the diversity of our service users by ensuring that religious, cultural, racial and gender identities are respected and to request service users and their carers respect the rights of staff to the same non-discriminatory approach.
  6. To maximise the impact of our care, we will use forms of communication and language that are suitable for the needs of the service user to ensure that the client’s needs are understood.
  7. Our service users will be treated with dignity and respect and will be safeguarded from the risk of abuse.
  8. We will ensure that all information received while carrying out our duties is treated with the utmost confidentiality and is not passed to any unauthorized persons. Records will be accurate and fit for purpose.
  9. We will ensure that our staff and external service users will be respectful of the service users personal privacy and space.
  10. Our staff and external service users will ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed always.
  11. We will ensure young people are provided with information concerning the services provided, their rights and responsibilities and any changes to services which may affect their well-being.
  12. We will Provide 24-hour staffing by members of our highly trained team.
  13. We will offer levels of support which can be increased or decreased as required and in consultation with the placing authority to meet individual needs, especially for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, as some may require 1:1 support 24 hours per day. Assess and document every aspect of the young person’s daily living to establish their level of independence and what areas require support to develop.
  14. We aim to support young people with the “Getting Ready for Adult Life” programme (Published by Rainer, National Leaving Care Advisory Service and The Fostering Network).
  15. Encourage and support our residents in accessing employment, education and training.
  16. Support young people in setting up their own bank accounts, passports and navigation of the benefits system where necessary.
  17. Support young people in the transition from semi-independence to their own home.
