Intervention Models
1. Registered provider The Managing Director of Shikenah House will be responsible for ensuring that the scheme is fully compliant with CQC and other requirements, funding and equipment are available for the running of the scheme and to undertake other strategic responsibilities such as negotiating with partners, work placements and events for service users as well as staff training.
2. Scheme Manager The scheme manager will be responsible for the day to day running which includes managing 7 staff and ensuring that they deliver in accordance with their set roles, and more importantly making sure that the residents are comfortable and safe in their home. The manager will also be responsible for ensuring that the service users’ health needs are met. This includes working with the local GP services so that service users go for treatment if they are unwell.
The scheme manager will be responsible for service users who are on regular medication and will support them to take their medication as prescribed by their doctor and that the medicine and drug policy is being adhered to. The role also includes overseeing all the files and paper work concerning the residents are kept safe, and are up to date.
The manager will supervise activities for the residents and ensure that the residents’ well-being is promoted. It is the responsibility of the scheme manager to motivate staff, monitor performance and document it accordingly. The manager will liaise with the Registered Provider on all matters that require strategic decisions, or affect the services that are being provided.
They will also be responsible for dealing with human resources issues such as complaints, compliments and sickness, managing and recording annual leave, documenting team meetings, managing the payroll and ensuring that staff issues are dealt with,
3. Accountant: The role is part time and involves providing financial reports, submitting HMRC tax and other returns and managing business funds in line with the financial procedures set out by our business.
4. Care and Support The 3 Carers will be an integral part of the scheme as are they are charged with dealing with service users on day to day basis. Their key roles will involve (but not limited to) the following activities;
• Assessing new service users
• Setting up care plans for each client
• Arranging daily activities with the service users and taking them to social activities
• Assisting service users with personal activities such as shopping, cleaning, preparing meals etc.
• Arranging key work sessions with service users to monitor and record their progress
• Carrying out risk assessments and recording them on our computer system and manual files
• Advising the scheme manager of any safeguarding concerns regarding the safety and the wellbeing of the service users
• Liaising with next of kin, professionals, and agencies such hospitals, GPs, physiotherapists, mental health teams and the police on any issues affecting service users
• Supporting the service users to make decisions and achieve their personal goals through their care plans
• Mentoring and providing guidance to service users.
5. Caretaker This post will be kept as part time and the caretaker/handyman will be responsible for general maintenance of the property, litter picking and grounds maintenance
